Please be advised of a few changes in the school calendar. There will be four noon release Fridays this year that were not on the original school calendar. These four dates are:
- Friday, September 16th,
- Friday, October 14th,
- Friday, February 24th and
- Friday, April 28th.
On these four Fridays, there will be no school lunch, no Friday programming, no afternoon preschool, and no afterschool programming. All students must be picked up from St. Peter’s School by noon on these Fridays. In addition, due to the lack of bus drivers, there will be no bussing on these Fridays afternoons. (We really tried to lock in bussing on these Fridays, but we were repeatedly denied.)
These four early release Fridays are part of our broader Friday professional development plan and will provide our faculty and staff with a few unscheduled Friday afternoons throughout the school year. We have made a host of positive changes this year to improve student outcomes spiritually, academically, socially and morally. Despite the additional work these changes have required, our faculty and staff have willingly and graciously embraced our new initiatives, with a positivity and an eagerness that is inspiring. In light of our robust, weekly professional development efforts, giving our faculty and staff a few Friday afternoons throughout the school year to catch their breath seems like the right thing to do.
