In order to address the sixth grade health course of study put forth by the Toledo Diocese, the sixth graders have been immersed in two units of study. Currently, they are working on a project-based learning unit which involves first aid procedures. The unit is titled “Can You Help Me?” and is centered on the scripture verse of the Good Samaritan.
In order to build a positive classroom community, the year began in health class sharing a program entitled Peace Be With You, specifically designed to be used in Catholic and Christian schools. Last week, Mr. Frank DiLallo, author of PEACE BE WITH YOU, visited the sixth grade students to implement Phase II Dignity for All (Interpersonal Skills) with the students for the Peace Be With You program.
