St. Peter’s High School and Junior High took part in the second annual Iditarod Race Against Hunger. Students raised over $2,300 this year compared to $1,200 last year and spent Monday evening shopping for groceries that were delivered to Catholic Charities immediately after the race on Tuesday afternoon. “House” groups–25 of them–competed on a beautiful day for what proved to be a fun and exciting mile-long race around the campus area with over 300 elementary students watching them depart from the parish parking lot and return there to the finish line. Congratulations to all the students and staff–especially Mr. Strang and Mr. Henrich, coordinators of the event–for their efforts to conduct a great event that would benefit those in our community! And a hearty congratulations to House of Mathias for winning the competition! (Photographs provided by Mrs. Ralph, Father Hite and Kathy Morris.)
