Congratulations to several St. Peter’s students who were chosen as finalists for the MindSprouts Creative Writing Contest. Students participating in MindSprouts worked on their writing during enrichment sessions after school under the direction of Mrs. Rizzo, who submitted their work for consideration to the contest.
From over 110 submissions, thirteen were chosen as finalists, and five of those thirteen are St. Peter’s Elementary students. The students had their work presented at the Renaissance Theater on Thursday, May 23, at the Creative Writing Showcase.
The finalists were first graders Zoe Daniels (“A New Friend”) and Gabriella Nguyen (“A Rainbow in the Sky”), fourth grader Julia Rizzo (“Yellow”), fifth grader Maggie Allred (“Papely and the Magic Rainbow”), and sixth grader Maggie Wright (“What Is Blue”).
