SPHS cheerleading moderator, Mrs. Shellie Kowalski, and her squad of cheerleaders hosted one great cheerleading clinic last Saturday morning from 10 a.m.-noon in the FAC gymnasium. More than 40 young ladies from kindergarten through sixth grade participated and learned the basics of cheerleading. Before they left at noon, they each received a gift bag, contents of which included a pair of sunglasses and a t-shirt they wore that evening to the boys’ basketball game. At half-time they were front and center with their cheers and their dance–with, of course, the high school cheerleaders in the front lines to guide them in case they forgot their steps.
