Senior, Anthony Schlitt, swam at the state swim meet late last week and was among only 24 male swimmers in Division II who advanced to Canton for the state finals in the 100-Breaststroke. At the onset of Sectionals several weeks ago, there were 353 male swimmers in Division II from across Ohio–all of whom were attempting to be among the top 24 to advance to the state meet in Canton. Anthony–congratulations making it to state and for representing St. Peter’s High School in a grand way.
On Wednesday, all students assembled in the Robert Frye Gymnasium for a send-off to Anthony. Mrs. Reith gave Anthony a decade rosary, as is the tradition for any SPHS athlete who advances to state in any sport. She also sang her own version of good luck to the “We Will, We Will Rock You” song which you can view on the SPSchool YouTube account.
