This week, the TEAMS competition began nationwide. Approximately 10,000 students, consisting of more than 1,000 teams, are expected to meet for one day during the competition window, which runs through March 22. Students will be answering multiple choice and essay questions related to scenarios involving the electrical grid, green space preservation and development, pollution control, sustainability, transportation, virtual reality for urban design, and water/sewer systems. Eight seniors from St. Peter’s High School competed this week in the TEAMS competition at Ohio Northern University. The SPHS team comprised of Taylor Schlupp, Taylor Dauterman, Phil Zitko, Anthony Koehler, Anthony Schlitt, Sean Stockmaster, Joe Rall and Ryanne Roley finished 7th among the 11th and 12th grade teams in Division II. There was a total of 69 teams at the competition with 9th/10th grade and 11th/12th grade in both Division I and Division II.
Congratulations to these students who represented SPHS for the first time in competition. Congratulations and thanks to their coach, high school teacher (chemistry, physics, Algebra I, Algebra II) Mr. Jon Cuttiti, who says, “The kids all had a great time. They were deservedly proud of their 7th place finish, especially since this was St. Peter’s first year competing and we didn’t know exactly how best to prepare. The competition was very difficult and our students acquitted themselves well. This is truly an outstanding group of young people!”
