SPHS Key Club Assists Peace Corps Project

Bennett Eighinger, SPHS ’11, is working for two years with the Peace Corps in Panama, teaching English to her students there.  The need for school supplies made known recently was answered by so many generous donations from St. Peter’s parishioners, St. Peter’s School students and staff, and other community friends of St. Peter’s.  In September under the direction of Miss Angie Dillon, Key Club advisor, over $1,000 of new school supplies were packaged by SPHS Key Club members into totes, which were then transported to Pittsburgh by Bennett’s parents.  From there, the McCormack Foundation took over.  They shrink wrapped the totes on a skid and loaded them for transport to Panama–at no cost to anyone, part of the mission of the Foundation.  We hope to follow up later with photos of Bennett and her students with the new supplies!
