Art I students in Mrs. Brafford’s class have been learning about graffiti as an art form, discussing famous graffiti artists, and studying the many styles of graffiti lettering, each of which is indigenous to a specific large city in the U.S. As an assignment, students were to create one of their own in class.
While some graffiti is willful destruction of property, many cities like Los Angeles with its downtown LA Graffiti and Mural Tour have provided opportunities for graffiti artists to display their work which has led to an art boom in these urban neighborhoods, especially downtown areas. Thank you to Mrs. Brafford and her students for sharing their art work.
