Soles 4 Souls is an organization that provides shoes to people in disaster areas, such as hurricanes, floods or tornadoes, and to people in impoverished countries. The organization seeks donations of shoes and money, and have corporate sponsorship from Crocs and Nike.
During the 2015-2016 school year, the SPHS Key Club’s goal for collection was 100 pairs of shoes. Brighton Collectibles at Easton in Columbus served as a temporary drop-off site during late May and June, and Brighton Collectibles has a larger area-wide goal of collection. Claire Thrasher, Key Club president last year and Hannah Novack delivered shoes collected at SPHS this past June 13 to Brighton, without a tally of quantity.
Brighton informed St. Peter’s a few weeks ago that the tally was a total of 233 pairs of shoes! Congratulations to Key Club members and all students and families who donated on their involvement in this worthwhile project.
