While perusing school sites on Facebook last year, we came across the “Give Back” contest sponsored by Catholic Financial Life in Milwaukee, WI, so we figured we would give it a try this year.
In John’s Gospel, Jesus tells the Apostles, “I give you a new commandment: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another. This is how all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35).
Catholic Financial Life invited any Catholic school in the country to submit a 2-3 minute video entry showcasing “How your school forms students to become disciples who live out this challenge from Jesus.”
The St. Peter’s School video was submitted by the deadline in early January and even though our video was not among the committee’s selection of the top 10 finalists, we are pretty proud of it and, especially, of what it represents. (Watch it below.)
Thank you to those students and adults in the video for participating in the taping.
Thank you, also, to all parish and school personnel who had and/or have anything to do with organizing activities, etc., that are in the list of service activities in the video–which also includes service of our students outside of school. Thank you to Miss Angie Dillon for combing through the service logs so those activities could be included.
