Musical Wrap Up

St. Peter’s musical wrap up! Wow! What a performance!

The Wizard of Oz took to the stage in April with a cast of 81 students and parishioners, ranging in age from four to 70.

Under the direction of Jim Cox (director) and Shannon Ball (assistant director), rehearsals began in January.  To create the trademark singing and dancing of Oz, cast met two to three times a week with vocal director, Barb Oliver, and choreographer, Jennifer Latham, up until tech week where they worked every day and night.

The magical setting of Oz was created by the Blakely family, who both built and hand-painted the entire set. A 22-piece live orchestra filled the air with music, and our Dorothys (Leah Allen and Julia Kearney), cowardly lions (Nataie Tanchevski and Lauren Haus), tinmen (Abi Baldasere and Ross Pruettmiller), scarecrows (Caden Brubaker and Jersey Heffley), wicked witches (Teagan Allen and Alexa Blakely), Glindas (Rowan Pruetmiller and Alyna Rickly), and wizards (Malaki Stanfield and Chase Smith) led our large cast, putting on an excellent show that received rave reviews throughout the community.

Congratulations to all! We can hardly wait until next year. Go Spartans!
