Seventh grade students in Mrs. Campbell’s math class just completed a pretty big project of planning and creating their own city.
First on their list was Phase 1–create area and perimeter designs that matched a certain criteria and, then, get the city’s approval before moving on to Phase 2.
Phase 2 required them to create volume nets for the area and perimeter designs and to label all of their buildings.
Finally, Phase 3 directed students to assemble nets and place them on the map. They had to calculate the surface area of each building to complete the phase.
Is your mind math tired?! Phew!
Superb job, seventh graders, and thank you to Mrs. Campbell for being such a great math teacher! Go Spartans!
