Re-creation of Four Master Paintings

0

The art projects in Mrs. Couch’s high school and junior high art classes just kept getting better, more challenging, and more beautiful as the second semester continued.

These past weeks, the 7th/8th grade fourth quarter art class re-created four master paintings. Each student was given a grid to copy. They collaborated and made sure their area’s drawing, shading, and color lined up–making a cohesive class piece. How beautiful their pieces turned out!

Of the two similar photos of each piece, the first is the master painter’s piece and the second is the students’ collaborative piece.

Each project explored a different medium.

1) Georgia O’Keeffe: Pelvis with Distance (1943) – Class Medium: Graphite Pencil – Converted color painting into grey scale
2) Georgia O’Keeffe: Grey Lines with Black, Blue and Yellow (1923) – Class Medium: Colored Pencil
3) Vincent Van Gogh: Sunflowers (1889) – Class Medium: Acrylic Paint
4) Franz Marc: Forest with Squirrel (1913) – Class Medium: Pastels

Thank you to Mrs. Couch for this information and these photos! Go Spartans!
