Be a Superhero for Lent

For their study of Lent, the eighth grade Theology class participated in an Almsgiving project called “Be A Superhero For Lent”.   After learning about how children who are without a permanent home are able to alleviate stress through imaginative play, each St. Peter’s student created a Superhero Box to give to a child who is without permanent housing.  Each box, decorated with the superhero’s emblem and slogan, contained a story explaining the hero’s superpowers, how they obtained them and how they used them.   Each box also held a cape and mask reflecting that superhero’s powers.
