Throughout the year in Montessori, a science shelf in maintained in the sensorial room where all the children learn about the scientific method. They use their “observation skills” to explore the items found there. In these photos, the children are learning about hydration/dehydration, orbs and different ways our vision can be altered. Also, they recently experimented with white eggs for the dental unit (they were not white for long!) and they removed the brown from brown eggs and turned them to rubber!
The kindergarten students learned about solids, liquids and gasses. They participated in hands-on experiments to capture gases and to understand the difference between the molecules in cold water (slow moving) and hot water (faster moving) and how that affects food color and M&M’s!
Thank you to Mrs. Beres for these photos and information.
