Students in Mrs. James’ 5th/6th blended science class used the scientific method to investigate the presence of iron in breakfast cereals. At the completion of the lab, students were asked to answer questions about why our body needs iron, why/how does our body use it, how do cereal manufacturers put iron into cereal–adding just the element or adding it as a compound. Thanks to Mrs. James for inviting us to the lab to watch students at work.
