This past week has been full of celebrations to honor our graduates of the SPHS Class of 2019.
The Baccalaureate Mass was held Wednesday evening. Luke Henrich and Lauren Haus were awarded the Bishop’s Cross. In addition, and because Luke Henrich would miss the next day’s Senior Honors Assembly, the top academic honors of Valedictorian and Salutatorian to Luke Henrich and Harrison Hecker, respectively, were awarded at the Mass. The junior parents hosted a beautiful reception for graduates and their families after Mass. It was held in the Franciscan Activity Center Atrium.
Thursday morning, there were many special awards at the Senior Honors Assembly and a complete list, along with future plans of each member of the SPHS Class of 2019, will be posted next week.
Following the awards assembly, the elementary school students and staff celebrated the graduates during the Senior Walk. There were many high fives and a good amount of hooting and hollering from the elementary students and staff as graduates made their way through the halls of the elementary school. Each graduate received a gift from the elementary school staff. Mr. Roger Zellner braved the ladder climb again this year, as did Mr. Crundwell, to get a photo of all graduates and the elementary students.
On Saturday morning, under the direction of Mr. Lew Friend, band members provided music as graduates entered the gymnasium. Graduates received their diplomas from Pastor and Local Superintendent, Father Gregory Hite, and St. Peter’s welcomed 31 new members to the St. Peter’s alumni community.
It is protocol to always has a police officer at major events here at St. Peter’s and we enjoyed visiting with SPHS alum, Josh Adamescu, the officer on duty.
Go Spartans!
