Richland County continues to see a rise in COVID-19 cases that with the upcoming holidays will likely intensify. In order to provide the safest learning environment for our students, we have made some minor adjustments to our holiday schedule. Our goal, as has been consistently stated, is to provide our students with as much in-person learning as possible during the pandemic. We, as such, encourage all families to follow the protocols outlined by the CDC and Governor DeWine to keep our campus community as healthy and safe as possible. Please note that the following adjustments are subject to change as the situation with COVID-19 develops.
Thanksgiving break will occur as scheduled from Wednesday, November 25 through Friday, November 27. Starting on Monday, November 30, ALL students will transition to REMOTE LEARNING for one week (November 30-December 4). On Monday, December 7, in-person learning will resume.
Christmas break will also occur as scheduled from Friday, December 18 through Sunday, January 3. Starting Monday, January 4, 2021, ALL students will transition to REMOTE LEARNING for one week (January 4-January 8). On Monday, January 11, in-person learning will resume.
As of now, there are no planned changes to athletics or extracurricular activities, however, we will continue to monitor that situation and all related health orders and recommendations.
The cafeteria will be providing packed lunches free of charge during both remote learning weeks. Families may pick up lunches in the parking lot behind the high school on Monday, November 30, and Monday, January 4 between 10:00-11:00. Families MUST email [email protected] by Sunday evening so that she can get lunches prepared for pick up.
By providing a week of remote learning after both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, both faculty and families will be able to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and minimize the chance of an infected faculty member or student returning to school. We will continue to monitor the numbers and the situation on our campus daily and adjust this plan as deemed necessary to keep our staff and students safe.
