One of the after-school enrichment programs at St. Peter’s Elementary School is the Multi-Cultural Club. This past week, moderator, Mrs. Maren Kennedy, invited second grade teacher, Mrs. Diane Schwaner, to visit the students and talk about Japan. Mrs. Schwaner shared photos from the time when her sons visited Japan some years ago. She also showed them some interesting souvenirs from Japan that highlighted the art and culture of that country.
Students are introduced to a different country for each of their after-school meetings. Another country on the schedule is Brazil and during that meeting, students will watch a PowerPoint, do a craft and enjoy Brazilian food. Australia and Germany are also on the schedule for this year.
