Paws to Read

During National Library Week in April, Mrs. Salyers had a contest to challenge her students to “Paws to Read.”  The contest entailed snapping a photo of a family pet reading a book and bringing in the photo to school.  There were photos entered of dogs and cats and hamsters and turtles and horses – all READING!

Pet Supplies Plus generously provided the winners with gift cards.  Logan Rhodes took first place with his dog, Button, engrossed in a Pokemon book.  He received a $20 gift card.  (Entry #12)

Four students earned honorable mention and received a $10 Pet Supplies Plus gift card.

Sami Steinhauser featured Baxter the turtle reading about aviation.(Entry #21)

Landin McKay entered his dog Bodie, clearly interrupted from his reading! (Entry #7)

Emma Henderson’s dog, Quincy, reads intently. (Entry #4)

MaKenna Coontz’s dog, Zoey, reads a favorite of K-9s everywhere, “Go Dog Go”.  (Entry #9)

Thank you to Mrs. Salyers for the information and photos.
