Eighth grader, Logan Stewart, is the St. Peter’s High School/Junior High representative this school year for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!).

YEA – The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a year-long program that teaches students in grades 6-12 how to start and run their own, REAL businesses. Students brainstorm business ideas, decide if they want to work by themselves or as a team, write a business plan, pitch their plan to investors for funding, and actually launch their own business or social movement. All of the learning is real and experiential. Students leave the class as business owners, complete with a DBA and bank account! (source: Richland Chamber of Commerce website)

Since earlier this school year, Logan has been spending a lot of time getting involved in the various seminars and meetings.

Most recently, students from the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA! Richland) were “introduced to CEOs and upper management from area companies this week, all of whom spent time discussing their roles, companies, backgrounds, and offer helpful business and networking advice to the students.” Read the Richland Source story about that event HERE.

Logan’s mother reported that Logan was heading to meet his mentor after school one day earlier this week to go over some blueprint drawings at Commercial Cutting and that Logan is getting closer to a finished product with his YEA project.

Good luck, Logan.  We look forward to following up on the result of your year-long work with YEA!.
