Congratulations to several world language students from St. Peter High School who attained national recognition for excellent performance on the 2014 National Spanish Examinations.
Students from St. Peter High School earned a total of one silver and three bronze medals along with seven honorable mentions.
Senior Taylor Dauterman (Level 3) earned a silver medal. Freshman Georgiann Naumoff and Trevor Zook (Level 2) earned bronze medals. Junior Zachary Molitor (Level 3) also earned a bronze medal. Freshman Sophia Naumoff and sophomores Tara Baker, Charlie Maxwell, Ryan Payne (Level 2) earned Honors. Finally junior Kim Tomchak (Level 3) earned Honors as well as sophomores Claire Thrasher and David Hall.
“Attaining a medal or honorable mention for any student on the National Spanish Examinations is very prestigious,” said Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, National Director of the Exams, “because the exams are the largest of their kind in the United States with over 154,000 students participating in 2014.”
The National Spanish Examinations are administered each year in grades 6 through 12, and are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.
