Innovative Technology Grant Awarded by CenturyLink

Congratulations to Mrs. Susan James, St. Peter’s Elementary technology and science teacher and recipient of a CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation Teachers and Technology grant.

The program, which has been offered since 2008, awards grants to schools in CenturyLink’s local service areas on behalf of teachers who have developed specific plans to innovatively implement technology in their classroom. The grant amount is $4,976.28 under the project name of Make a Difference—Makerspace.  Students ooo’d and aww’d and smiled with excitement as Mrs. James explained to them what they would be doing next school year in the makerspace classroom.

Mr. Joe Ragizzine, Manager of Region Operations – Ohio East, CenturyLink presented the check personally on Thursday afternoon in a “surprise presentation”.

The entire student body and all staff was assembled in the main hallway for a special song-prayer time and Mrs. James was asked to step forward, totally unaware that she was the recipient.

Thank you to our friends at RICHLAND SOURCE who attended the presentation.  Read the RS story HERE.
