Each month we focus on a different Virtue and teachers nominate one student/class that has been exceptional at living this Virtue throughout the month. The virtue for the month of September is courtesy. Students are then presented with a certificate, out of dress code day, and a Spartan prize for being “Spartan of the Month” each month.
Spartan of the Month and the Virtue program coincides with our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. “Be a Spartan” includes school-wide expectations and students are expected to “Be safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible” Spartans every day.
Teachers reinforce the Virtue of the month with lessons in their classrooms and the Virtue is reinforced every morning on announcements and students are given a task each week so that they practice the Virtue of the month in action.
