One Year Later: Mr. Strang returns

The date was March 16, 2020. The last day of in-person classes for the students at St. Peter’s as the pandemic forced the shut down of life as we know it. It was also the last day in the building as a teacher for long time St. Peter’s High School history teacher Mr. Jeff Strang. He was a presence in the high school for 42 years and taught history, speech, government, and a handful of other courses along the way. He was coached girls basketball, golf, and the mock trial team.

He retired at the end of the 2019-20 school year.

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, Mr. Strang made his first return to St. Peter’s since his retirement last summer. During his visit, Mr. Strang was presented with a rocking chair — as a retirement gift. The chair was refurbished by fellow teacher Mr. Bradner. Members of the senior class looked on as he tried out his new gift.

Mr. Strang also visited his old classroom, now home to Coach Shoulders. Coach did his own renovations over the summer and now has the coolest classroom on campus.
